I’m Emily, the face behind Art by Emba
Hello and welcome!
I’m a Massachusetts born-and-raised artist currently based in Boston. I grew up on Cape Cod and earned my BFA from UMass Amherst with a concentration in Digital Media Arts.
My love for art began at a young age with drawing and painting. Today, my focus is digital illustration. I love to morph traditional elements with a digital style to create a mixed-media effect.
My work is heavily influenced by my second passion – music. I love to draw my favorite musicians and include elements that depict how an artist’s music makes me feel. It’s a fun challenge to visualize how sound “looks”, illustrating sound waves with color patterns that I imagine when enjoying their discography.
When working with clients, my ultimate goal is to encapsulate the feeling and values of the project they are looking to tackle – from branding, to book covers, family portraits, you name it!
When I’m not creating art, I’m working my day job in digital marketing, curating a playlist, playing with my two cats and planning my next adventure. :)
